You Can’t MAKE this UP

Hi beauty babes of the world –

Since my first real ‘big-girl job’ as a teacher, I have gone through numerous brands of mascara, lipgloss, eyeshadow, eye-liner, blush, etc.  Along the way, I have figured out:

A– some brands have the potential to make you feel even more like a woman, natural or not.

B– some brands are certainly not for me, but definitely can work for someone out there.

C– some brands are over-priced for what they are.

Below are a few of my personal staples when it comes to the beauty department.

NARS ORGASM LIPGLOSS • THE BALM NUDE ‘TUDE EYESHADOW • SEPHORA GOLDEN KHAKI EYELINER • NARS ORGASM BLUSH • BENEFIT THEY’RE REAL BLACK MASCARA

NARS GENTLE OIL-FREE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER • MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY (HERB & ROSEWATER) • CLINIQUE SMART CUSTOM-REPAIR EYE TREATMENT  • NARS RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER

All of the above products are amazing & I’d recommend trying them all if you haven’t already, especially the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. Seriously, I may or may not be addicted to this spray.  I use it as my toner and to set my make-up.  For the price point and how refreshing it feels, especially if you have more dry skin and with the winter season upon us, I mean go ahead and do a bulk order.

If you’re on a budget like me, you probably know that it would take a hefty chunk of change to get a number of these products at once, but have no fear because if you don’t already budget for these types of purchases, they can be added into your budget under a ‘Beauty’ category.  If you plan to put a little cash-money into a ‘beauty’ category each month, this will allow you to already have money built up for the months that you do need to re-stock on your cosmetics {insert touchdown hands emoji}.

Today I will leave you with a quick run-down on what I consider to be the ‘apple of my eye’ (pun totally intended) type of make-up: mascara.  I pretty much consider myself an advocate for bombshell-like mascaras, so here are a couple others that I think are worth the swipe:

  • {Chanel Le Volume Mascara} ← One time at the Chanel counter a make-up artist asked me if I was wearing this Chanel mascara, but truth be told I was actually wearing {Maybelline Falsies Mascara} so these two mascaras are similar when applied.
  • {Dior ‘Diorshow Extase’ Mascara} ← I’ve found that this mascara does indeed have that ‘man, I feel like a woman’ effect.
  • {Loreal Paris Voluminous Orig Mascara} ← Obvs another good one.

What are some of your favorite make-up products?  I’d love to hear from you so please feel free to leave a comment below!

Until next time,

XO
