5 lessons I’ve learned so far while being 27..
Y’all – even though I am what some of you may consider “newly” 27, I already have a few words of wisdom that I have learned since February 28th that I’d like to share with you.
1 – That quote, “The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over & over again and expecting different results” really does apply to life. For some reason, lately, this quote has really hit home for me. When it comes to work, relationships, and/or anything else – this quote definitely applies. If you keep doing the same ol’ things with anything, you’re going to get the same results; however, if you change things up and do things differently, you’re going to get different results. Simple as that.
2 – Eye cream & water matter. When you’re out, and get carded, you get excited. I thank the good eye creams, & lots of water, just as Jennifer Aniston advises. I mean have you seen her skin?!
3 – It still feels good to be silly. You’ve got to have fun in life & you’ve got to laugh. Whether you’re sharing an old story with new friends or laughing at your own stories on SnapChat with the different filters, laughter lifts you up and makes you feel better.
4 – You have to do what makes you happy. This is your time to figure out what you want out of life & how you’re going to get there. As my Mom told me this past weekend, you’ve got to chase your dreams & not feel bad about it. Whether that dream is small or large, it doesn’t matter – if it makes you happy, do it.
5 – You’re still young. You can still go out and do things after work..any day of the week. It goes back to #4, do what makes you happy. If you want to stay in on a Monday night or go get dinner & drinks with friends, do it! Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in work even after hours, but if you just remember that it is okay to enjoy yourself some work nights, it can really make your week less stressful and more enjoyable no matter the work load.
What are some things you’ve learned since your last birthday (no matter your age)?! Please share some of your advice below – we can all learn from each other no matter the age!
