Teachin’ UP on a TUESDAY

So I’m bringing y’all my first teacher profile on this Teachin’ Up on a Tuesday!  This teacher profile features one of my besties, McKenzie Glenn.  She teaches 4th grade right here in Charlotte for Charlotte Mecklenburg County (CMS).  I came up with just a couple questions to ask her about her teaching experience(s) and you will find her answers along with my questions in the teacher profile below.  I hope to get many more questions answered by other teachers and give educators a place to shine because it is very important what y’all do on a daily basis and I (along with many others) want you to know that you are appreciated & what you do matters!!

If y’all know anything about the North Carolina Public School system, especially CMS, you know that when teaching gets brought up there are a lot of elderly women saying “I swanee, bless their hearts!” and for good reason – so here’s to all the educators out there, you da bomb!

Ms. Glenn Teachin' UP on a Tuesday Best Teacher CMS

Ms. Glenn – 4th grade – Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools

1 – What is your favorite part of teaching?  “Making connections with students and being a constant in their life – which is something they all really need.”

2 – What is your biggest challenge?  “I think I would say the hardest part is always being on it 24-7.  You have to be on it all-day-every-day no matter what and some days it is exhausting.”

3 – What is your go-to-teacher-fashion statement?  “The easiest & go-to now is a pair of black skinny pants/denim & boots!”

And there you have it folks, a short & sweet teacher profile for you on this Teachin’ UP on a Tuesday!  I would absolutely love to hear more about your teaching experiences and/or if you have any questions or comments.  Funny and inspirational stories are always welcome so feel free to e-mail me (, leave a comment below, and/or throw up an Insta and use the hashtag #teachinuponatuesday and tag me, @missetayla 🙂

As always, spread the missEtayla love by sharing this blog & post with your family and friends.

*Special thank you to Ms. McKenzie Glenn – thanks for being supportive, a great friend, & for answering these questions for us!  And also a special shout out to her fabulous little artist that made her the sweet picture you see above. 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday cupcakes!
