As you all know, today marked the 15th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. I remember exactly where I was that day. In my 7th grade Social Studies class – I didn’t fully grasp what was going on. I had no idea how much this particular day’s events would make such an effect on not only our country, but on the world.
I will never fully grasp the idea of hate – I get frustrated and yea people annoy me sometimes, I’m human. But some people take it to a zillion million billion times the level that most of us would. Fifteen years later, I still get chills and emotions about this particular day. I cannot even imagine how it makes people feel who actually experienced this first hand – whether they lost a loved one, knew a firefighter, lived in NYC, and/or worked in the Pentagon or Twin Towers. This day and everyone it effected will never be forgotten.
On this 15th anniversary, I am reminded of how grateful I am to have the family & friends that I have in my life. We should love and respect everyone no matter what they look like or their background. I encourage you all to hug someone a little extra hard tonight, stand up during the national anthem, and love & respect one another. We all live here and we should all be in this together, making each day better than the last. Just more of these small efforts could make a huge difference if enough people choose love over hate.
Love you all & thank you for reading and supporting me!
AS ALWAYS, be sure to spread the love of missEtayla by sharing this post with your family & friends via Social Media!
