I hope y’all had a nice weekend! Our first few days here at the beach have been amazinggg. If you’re following me on Insta (@tayloringstyle) & Snap (tayloringstyle), you know that we’ve had some quality beach time and some delicious food so far!
Today I want to brighten your Monday and share with you my top 5 favorite highlighters. I’ve been rotating between these 5 for the last hmm, probably 6-8 months. Highlighters are great all year ’round, but especially in the summer. There’s something about having some color to your skin & adding some gorgeous highlight to it. Amiright or amiright??
Here are my top 5 fave highlighters:
The most recent addition to my highlighter collection is the Becca Chrissy Teigen palette. It has two highlighters in it (so 2 out of my 5). It also comes with a gorgeous blush & bronzer, but the highlighters are seriously so pretty. I mainly use the Beach Nectar color (which is in the bottom right corner of the palette), but sometimes I use the Rose Gold color (upper left corner of the palette) as eyeshadow. Personally for me, this palette’s highlighters are extra great when you are pretty tan because they are a tad bit darker than my other highlighters.
The second highlighter is by tarte in the color exposed highlighter. I think I’m on my second one of these and it’s so gorgeous. It is a little bit lighter than the two highlighters in the Becca palette, but I still love it! I use it not only high on my cheek bones, but also right under my eyebrows and in the crease of my eye (close to my nose, if that makes sense). Such a great color.
Another fave is the NARS Liquid Illuminator in the shade Hot Sand. I love using a couple drops of this in my foundation to give an overall glowy look to my face. This is also a great highlighter for super hot summer days and it is great if you’re in a hurry and just need a drop and slap it on your cheeks and bam! You’re done. I would say it’s a tad bit darker than the tarte, but a gorgeous color.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. Although by definition it is a primer, it is a highlighting primer and just like the NARS Liquid Illuminator, you can add a drop or two of this to your foundation to get that all over glow look. Also if you’re looking for a lighter coverage, you could always just add a drop or two of this in your primer instead of your foundation. I like this one because it does have primer in it and gives that smooth completion + highlight. So this particular product has quite a few options.
