You made it to Friday!
I hope everyone has had a great week and that you have fun weekend plans! As you know from my last post, I made a big leap this week and re-branded myself. I went from missetayla to Erika Taylor with tayloringstyle and y’all, it feels really great! This Friday I simply want to share with y’all some things I’ve been thinking on lately, hopefully inspire you, & then send you on your way to a great weekend.
As crazy as it sounds, this re-branding has given me a feeling that I have been waiting for. It’s hard to describe and it’s like you don’t know the feeling until it actually happens? Does that make sense? It’s given me inspiration, motivation, and a new spark of creativity. I can’t describe how thrilled I am about all the new things to come with tayloringstyle.
On another sort of similar note? One of my best friends and I were chatting the other day and we were saying how there are currently so many exciting things happening to each person in our friend group and we don’t want any of us to be jinxed in any kinda way. I have honestly always been a little afraid of ‘too much good happening’, have any of y’all ever felt like that? The fear of too many things are going right and then it’s like we are expecting something to take a bad turn. SO when one of the besties & I were talking the other day it got me thinking that it’s just our age. In this particular friend group, we are all around 27-28 years old and I just want to believe for once that it is our time. It is the time in our lives when we are supposed to have great things happening and things coming together. You know that quote that you always saw on AIM profiles: “sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together”? Okay, now I get it. When I was 18 I was like okay whatever quote, you make zero sense so thanks for nothing. But now, as weird as it may sound, I get it. I have been extra grateful lately because of the way that some things have worked out in my life the way they have. I like to think it’s because I’ve been patient and gone with my gut on things from blogging to relationships and it’s okay/a good thing that the pieces are falling the way they are. Does any of that make sense?! I hope at least some of it does.
So all of this random ‘wisdom’ is to say that if you are on a life high, don’t be scared to continue to ride it out. Embrace it instead of hesitating something bad. If you are in a rut, like I was a couple of months ago, try to be patient, look at the good in your life and capitalize on your strengths. It’s not always easy and of course it varies case by case – so take it or leave it, but this is just something I’ve given some thought to lately and wanted to share with y’all!
As I mentioned in regards to the new branding of tayloringstyle, all of my content will mostly stay the same as far as bringing y’all my best content on fashion, lifestyle, & beauty, but one of my goals under the new branding is to get a little more personal and keep it really real. What do I mean by really real? I just mean putting more of myself out there and showing a little more of the ‘behind the scenes’/daily life thing more than I have been doing in the past. I hope this will further inspire y’all and give us all the opportunities to be our best selves.
What do y’all think of the re-branding so far?? Are you loving it? Are you like ew? Either way, share below. I want y’alls feedback and want to hear from you as to what you would like to see more of from me. What can I help with? What types of looks do you want more of? How can I help you better style your looks so you can feel and look your best?! Leave comments below!
Have a happy, happy Friday y’all!
